KEEP SCROLLING FOR MORE OF OUR STORY…
How they met…
Julie and Stephen met online through the video game, World of Warcraft. Nothing says “I love you” like a good boss kill!
The proposal…
The proposal was a complete surprise for Julie. They had gone out to dinner for their anniversary, and Stephen gave her a gift. She opened the box to find a beautiful silver necklace, which she thought was perfect because about a month prior, she had mentioned that she didn’t have a good chain on which to wear some of her jewelry. Then he told her he would take her shopping to pick out something to go on the chain… unless she wanted to go with his selection… and he pulled out an amazing sapphire and diamond ring.
The wedding theme…
The couple didn’t have a theme so much as a mental image of how beautiful Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is in the fall. Julie grew up in an area that doesn’t have four seasons, so one of the things she loves most about Ohio is the way the leaves change color in the fall. Which made her decide to wear a bronze wedding dress instead of white and all the other accent colors were centered around matching the tones seen in autumn leaves.
Favorite wedding memory…
Stan Hywet has the most beautiful gardens imaginable. While the newlyweds were taking pictures in the gardens after the ceremony, the three-year-old son of friends ran up to Julie and asked, “Hey, pretty lady, are you a princess?” When she answered him, “Not usually,” he countered with, “Can I have a kiss? They all cracked up laughing and she obliged him. That kid is going to break hearts in a couple decades!
