Now, Gervasi Vineyard is truly a wed- ding destination with more than 140 cou- ples from across the globe getting married on the property each year. “We recently planned a wedding for a bride who grew up in Northeast Ohio but now lives in Australia,” Cardinale says. “It’s fun to say we’ve had couples come from as far as Australia to say ‘I do’ at Gervasi.”
Tuscany at Every Turn
The Villa Grande is the cornerstone of Gervasi Vineyard. The impressive stone and stucco building features a unique sawmill design, which ties into the history of the estate (it was originally a sawmill). Old-world décor, including paint- ings by local and native artists, create a Tuscan- themed ambiance throughout the venue.
“There is no stone left unturned when it comes to the small details at Gervasi,” Cardinale explains. “Much of the Tuscan- themed décor has been replicated from Italy or custom-made from a region of the country where the family frequently visits. From furniture to decorations, every piece has been meticulously selected to fit the look and feel of the property.”
Located inside the Villa Grande, the Ballaria (ballroom) is a versatile venue for wedding receptions up to 120 guests. This lovely space features coffered ceilings, wrought-iron chandeliers, wine barrel dec- orations and patio doors that open to a cobblestone veranda. Surrounded by lush greenery, the veranda is a popular outdoor locale for weddings of 120 guests or less.
For brides who want the attributes of both an indoor and outdoor venue, the Conservatory is a great option for inti- mate weddings of 40 or less. Located in the heart of Gervasi, this charming greenhouse features a variety of plant life, from palms to ferns, rustic chan- deliers and breathtaking views of the manicured grounds.
“The Conservatory was originally built
to be a greenhouse, but we started using it for smaller weddings and cocktail hour as well,” Cardinale says. “Brides love that it is such a unique space.”
The Gem of Gervasi
With idyllic views of the 5-acre spring- fed Lake Gervasi and North Vineyard, the Tuscan pavilion is an awe-inspiring setting for wedding ceremonies and receptions. The open-air structure features a stone and stucco interior, rustic wood ceilings and wrought-iron chandeliers.
Each opening around the perimeter of the Tuscan pavilion has cream-colored awnings that provide protection from weather as well as a soft, romantic décor. A brick pathway with antique-looking gas lamps leads up to the pavilion.
“The Tuscan pavilion is truly magnifi- cent with views of the vineyard on one side and picturesque lake on the other side,” Cardinale says. “The vineyard looks simply beautiful when in full bloom, and the scenic lake provides a dreamy, fairy- tale-like setting.”
Weddings of up to 200-300 guests are recommended for the Tuscan pavilion, although smaller weddings can also be ac- commodated. This venue, truly the gem of Gervasi, is available May through October.
A Rustic Space
Perfect for rehearsal dinners, bridal showers and engagement parties, the Cantino Cellar Room is a charming, rustic space located on the lower level of The Bistro.
The focal point of the Cantino Cellar Room is a grand wood-burning fireplace. The room features beautiful stonework, wood ceilings, and French doors that open to a brick terrace with panorama views of the lake.
Located on the terrace behind The Bistro, The Piazza Outdoor Patio is a sea- sonal venue with casual dining and enter- tainment. “This is a popular place for guests to mingle throughout the wedding week- end,” Cardinale says. “Live music is offered every evening, and we have cornhole and bocce courts for a fun, casual atmosphere.”
