Gervasi Vineyard is a romantic getaway close to home in Northeast Ohio.
From a lovely Tuscan outdoor pavilion to a charming indoor greenhouse, this picturesque
destination offers a multitude of venue options to celebrate your wedding day and events leading up to it.
“Once you arrive at Gervasi Vineyard, you instantly realize you are someplace incredibly special,” says Nichole Cardinale, Director of Sales & Marketing. “Guests will often tell me, ‘I don’t feel like I’m in Can- ton any longer.’ Then they will take it a step further and say, ‘I don’t feel like I’m in Ohio either.’ Gervasi truly feels like an escape to Tuscany.”
A family affair
Originating from Italy, the Swaldo family owns Gervasi Vineyard. In 2009, Ted Swaldo retired from his long-time career as CEO of ASC Industries, Inc., in North Canton, and decided to take on a new venture. He purchased the Gervasi estate with the vision of creating a winery getaway in Northeast Ohio for local and out-of-town guests alike.
The restoration process was extensive, including
transforming the estate’s historic barn (built in 1823) into Gervasi’s Bistro. “The Swaldo family repur- posed as much of the original wood as possible to rebuild the barn into a rustic, upscale restaurant,” Cardinale explains.
Now, Gervasi Vineyard is truly a wedding destina- tion with more than 140 couples from across the globe getting married on the property each year. “We recently planned a wedding for a bride who grew up in Northeast Ohio but now lives in Australia,” Cardinale says. “It’s fun to say we’ve had couples come from as far as Australia to say ‘I do’ at Gervasi.”
Tuscany at every turn
The Villa Grande is the cornerstone of Gervasi Vineyard. The impressive stone and stucco building features a unique sawmill design, which ties into the
